The grand opening of the new MOD Pizza in Shelby Township raised $5,200 to benefit the Utica Community Schools Foundation for Educational Excellence.

In celebration of the brand’s rapid expansion in Michigan, TEAM Schostak Family Restaurants (TSFR) and MOD Pizza hosted an all-day “Pay What You Want” fundraiser for the grand opening of MOD Pizza Shelby Township, located at 15153 23 Mile Road. During the “Pay What You Want” day, guests were able to pay an amount of their choosing for their meal, with all proceeds benefiting the Utica Community Schools Foundation for Educational Excellence to aid the organization in its mission to enhance the education experience for local students by providing encouragement and support to the teachers and their classrooms.

We are thrilled to bring MOD Pizza to Shelby Township and are thankful to those in the community who helped us make this event such a success. At MOD, we make pizza to serve people, and we cannot think of a better way to celebrate our Shelby Township opening by serving and supporting the Utica Community Schools Foundation for Educational Excellence to ensure local students have the support and resources they need to be successful.

Based in Seattle, MOD’s individual artisan-style pizzas are made on demand, using organic fresh-pressed dough and signature sauces, including MOD red sauce and MOD white sauce. As the company that launched the fast-casual pizza niche, guests can create their own pizzas and salads, using any combination of more than 30 fresh-featured toppings, or they can choose from a menu of MOD classics. Each pizza is hand-cooked in an 800 degree oven in five minutes or less and salads are hand-tossed in front of the customer. MOD also serves local draft beers, wine, handspun milkshakes, and house-made lemonades and iced teas.

In late 2014, TSFR announced our plans to launch 25 MOD Pizza locations in Michigan over the next five years. Since then, we have opened our first eight MOD Pizza locations in Livonia, Northville, Rochester Hills, Woodhaven, Brighton, Canton, Chesterfield and Shelby Township.
