Olga’s Kitchen Featured in HometownLife to Unveil the Newly remodeled Olga’s Kitchen at Westland Shopping Center
With the exciting remodel of the Olga’s Kitchen restaurant at Westland Shopping Center complete, Olga’s Kitchen was excited to be featured in HometownLife’s Westland Observer when they attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony—with restaurant founder and namesake Olga Loizon!
At nearly 92, Loizon still makes visits to the restaurants – 27 locations currently – that came from the concept she launched in Birmingham in 1971.
“I never would have dreamed that all this would happen. I’m very proud of the company and what they’re doing with my idea,” said Loizon. “I’m glad things are moving forward. I love what I’m doing. I’ll never retire.”
The ribbon-cutting with Westland Mayor William Wild, city officials and representatives of the Schostak Company, which purchased Olga’s Kitchen two years ago, was to celebrate a $250,000 remodeling of the restaurant. Olga’s Kitchen has been at Westland Shopping Center for 38 years.
