TEAM Schostak Family Restaurants (TSFR) will host a special Dine to Donate event at four of our Applebee’s restaurants on Thursday, April 27 benefiting TSFR team member Sean English. Sean was one of the good samaritans injured in the I-96 rollover crash earlier this month.

As a host at the Northville Applebee’s, 17-year-old Sean is a junior at the University of Detroit Jesuit High School, as well as a local track star. On April 2, Sean, along with Henry Ford Hospital’s late Dr. Cynthia Ray, were the good samaritans who stopped to help six teens trapped inside an overturned SUV on I-96. While trying to help free the teens in the SUV, Sean and Dr. Ray were struck by another passing vehicle. Sean suffered an amputation of his foot, a broken leg and broke both of his wrists, all of which will require months of physical therapy.

In an effort to offset the medical expenses for Sean, TSFR’s Northville, Canton, Livonia and Commerce Township Applebee’s will donate 20% of food sales from 4-9 p.m. on Thursday, April 27 to support his recovery.

In an instant, Sean’s life was forever changed when he put the safety of others above his own in an extreme and selfless act of bravery that, for those of us who know him, is very much in alignment with his character. This community tragedy is hitting especially close to home, as Sean is a valued member of our team. We want to do everything we can to support Sean and his family, and we hope the community will join forces with us to shine a little bit of positivity on a truly heartbreaking situation.
