TEAM Schostak Family Restaurants to Host Dine to Donate Benefitting Veterans
TEAM Schostak Family Restaurants (TSFR) and 14 of our West Michigan Applebee’s restaurants are donating funds and volunteering our time to Habitat for Humanity of Kent County’s (Habitat-Kent) Veteran Program, beginning with a Dine and Donate event on Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

We are forever indebted to the service and sacrifice our nation’s greatest heroes have endured to protect our freedom. With the anniversary of 9/11 approaching, we are reminded as much as ever of the vast number of veterans who have served to keep us safe, only to struggle upon returning home. Habitat-Kent’s veteran program works to ensure that each of these heroes has the home they deserve, and our team members are passionate about not just raising money, but giving their time to help in this noble endeavor. We are blessed to have amazing people working for us who live our core value of giving back to the community.
All funds raised will directly help Habitat-Kent’s Veteran Program in its mission to provide support services in financial and homeownership education in addition to providing materials needed for building new homes, completing home repair and restoration projects on existing homes, and providing additional work opportunities for veteran and military families in Kent County and beyond.
Our TSFR Applebee’s employees will also donate hundreds of volunteer hours helping to build homes for veterans throughout the week of September 11. Since 2011, Habitat Kent has served 70 veterans, built five veteran homes, completed 39 veteran repair projects and have held 18 Vet-Hats events focused on service to the community and fellowship for local veterans.
